bass guitar bodies and necks

All you need to know about the low

The electric bass is a bass stringed instrument played with the fingers, either by plucking, slapping, popping, or tapping or using a selection. The bass is similar in appearance and construction of an electric guitar, but with a larger body, a longer neck and length of scale, and usually four strings tuned an octave lower than the four lower tone guitar strings.

The materials used for manufacturing of low

The bodies of these special instruments are typically made of wood, although other materials such as graphite have also been used. The most common type of the wood used for the body is alder, neck is maple and the fret board is rosewood, though a variety of woods can be used to make the body.

Other regularly used woods include mahogany, maple, ash, and poplar for bodies, mahogany for the neck, and ebony for fret boards. The choice the body material and shape of these guitars can have a significant impact on the timbre of the instrument duly completed, as well as aesthetic considerations. Other design options include finishes such as lacquer, wax and oil along with flat and carved designs. Bass guitar necks, which are longer than regular neck electric guitar, are generally made of maple.

A Brief History

In the 1930s, inventor Paul Tutmarc Seattle, Washington, developed a guitar style electric bass instrument that was designed and dishes to be held and played horizontally. Unfortunately, inventions never Tutmarc captured the public imagination, and little further development of the instrument took place until 1950.

In the 1950s, Leo Fender developed the first mass produced electric bass. In 1950 and 1960, the Fender term was widely used to describe low due to the popularity of early Fender in the mass market produced bass guitars.

Some components of the bass guitar

Thi skind guitar uses the various components to produce music. Some of these components are strings and tuning, fret or fretless bass, pickups, amplifiers and effects.

Frets and fretless bass
Frets are strips raised metal inserted into the fingerboard that extend across the entire width of the neck. In a bass with frets, the frets divide the fingerboard into semitone divisions. The original Fender bass had 20 frets. fretless bass sounds are different, because the absence of frets means that the strings must be pressed down directly onto the wood of the fingerboard.

Strings and tuning
Standard design for bass guitar has four strings, tuned E, A, D and G, with the original frequency set E chain at about 41 Hz, so the tuning of the four chains of the same as the bass. This tuning is also the same as the standard tuning on the bottom four strings of a guitar string 6, only an octave lower.

Buses
Most electric bass guitars use magnetic pickups. The vibrations of metal instrument strings within the magnetic field of permanent magnets in magnetic pickups produce small variations in the magnetic flux to thread the coils of the tablets.

Amplification and effects
The electric bass is always connected to an amplifier for live performances. Bass guitar use a combo guitar amplifier, which combines an amplifier and a speaker in a single cabinet, or an amplifier and a speaker separately.
